Brazilian Futsal Academy

The Brazilian Futsal Academy is a division of the Brazilian Futebol Academy - BFA, a premier soccer academy located at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego, offering year-round soccer training and camps for all skill levels.  BFA also offers high-quality futsal training through the Brazilian Futsal Academy. Our coaching staff is composed of top futsal professionals specialized in player development, and our strategic partners include soccer and futsal world champions.

BFA applies a similar training methodology and philosophy used in Brazil at the youth divisions of professional teams, and futsal training from Brazil's top clubs. Our age-appropriate training integrates scientific and pedagogical methods combined with practical application experience led by specialized professionals.

BFA Futsal training takes places on Saturdays and/or Sundays, during certain times of the year.  We are currently creating a new training group, so contact us if you would like your child to join. Please include child's name, age and playing level.  Spots are limited.

Why Play Futsal?

Futsal is fast-paced and action-packed, demands quick thinking, helps to develop accurate passing, better ball control and skills acquisition. Children love playing Futsal because it is exciting, many goals are scored, and the game is devoid of complex rules such as offside. Children learn much faster if they enjoy the game and spend a lot of time playing with the ball.

Benefits of Futsal

- Develops precise ball control and technical skills, and accurate and quick passing.
- Helps to develop creativity and decision-making.
- Develops skills required for soccer as well as other sports:  balance, motor ability, agility and coordination, and quicker reflexes and awareness.
- Safer and more affordable than indoor soccer with walls - it can be played on a basketball court.  Futsal eliminates the injuries associated with wall collisions. The game is popular with children, teenagers, and adults.

Youth Futsal Training

Futsal is the only official form of indoor soccer approved by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).  It is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. Futsal is generally played on a gymnasium hardwood floor or on all-purpose sports flooring, or even outdoor courts.

Brazil is a 7-time Futsal World Champion and 5-time Soccer World Champion, and most of its soccer players played futsal during their youth. Great soccer superstars such as Pelé, Zico, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Neymar and others grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.
