“...That electric sequence of events...captured, for the watching millions, one of soccer’s great truisms:  the English invented the game, but the Brazilians perfected it.  They found the game brick and left it marble.  They patented what has become known the world over as jogo bonito, the beautiful game, a style of soccer that combines exuberance with success...The bright, canary-yellow shirt of the Brazilian national team - the canarinho shirt, they fondly call it in Brazil - elicits feelings in soccer fans everywhere that unite reverence for Brazil's unquestioned supremacy with affection and a warm sense of personal ownership that transcends the sport’s inherent clan.”

Brazilian Soccer - A Winning History and Tradition

Soccer (futebol in Portuguese) is one of the most popular youth sports in the United States. Millions of North American youth players have joined the ranks with children and teens around the world to participate in this phenomenal sport. Our vision at the Brazilian Futebol Academy (BFA) is to create a world-class soccer academy in the United States, and to model it after the tried and true format of Brazilian soccer.

Brazil's world class reputation is second to none. Brazilians prove that beauty and soccer are one and the same. Brazil is the only country to have won the FIFA World Cup a record five times, the only country to have qualified for every World Cup since its inception in 1930, and is recognized as the soccer capital of the world. Many great players have come from Brazil, such as Péle, Garrincha, Rivelino, Zico, Romário, Bebeto, Taffarel, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Marta, among others. This reputation has generated worldwide interest in Brazilian players who showcase their skills all over the globe.

Every year, hundreds of Brazilian players are hired by teams all over the world, including top teams from European countries. FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Manchester City have had several Brazilian players on their rosters. One thing most Brazilian players have in common: each player cultivated skills and techniques within a youth soccer development program in Brazil. Brazilian soccer is considered an alliance of discipline and skill, combined with superior imagination. This is achieved through highly specialized training on an ongoing basis. In addition, many of the top players have played Futsal during their youth, which contributed to their skills development. Brazil is the only country to have won the Futsal World Cup a record seven times.

It is our goal to bring this expertise in youth soccer development to the U.S., providing American children a chance to learn from the best. Our soccer academy provides experienced youth soccer coaches and professional staff from Brazil, and will have participation from FIFA World Cup Champion players such as Cláudio Taffarel, and Futsal World Champion Eduardo Valdez Basso.
